Software developments to meet latest advances in Continuous Particulate Monitoring and Reporting


EN-14181 is one of the most demanding standards to be developed by CEN which begins by detailing an assessment method to determine the suitability of monitoring equipment prior to purchase and continues through installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance.

Focussing on the Quality Assurance of the Automatic Monitoring System (AMS), four key areas referred to as Quality Assurance Levels (QAL), the new standards apply to plant falling under the Large Combustion Plant Directive (LCPD) or the Waste Incineration Directive (WID).

QALReporter2 software (compatible with DT991 and LMS181, PCME’s particulate measurement systems) provides secure and powerful emissions reporting and the ability to download zero, span and contamination check results for statistical analysis as defined in QAL3 (On-going Quality Assurance). Statistical analysis of the self-check results allows process operators to demonstrate that the instrument is operating according to defined specifications according to QAL3.

In addition, QALReporter2 supports analysis of 15 point/3 day calibration data as defined in QAL2 (Calibration) and permits the specification of a valid calibration range.
